Our approach to crafting quality, world-class wines begins in the vineyard. Currently, we have 3 varieties planted under this high density system, Cabernet (Clone 337), Syrah (Noir Clone), and Primitivo (Clone 5). As the vineyard matures the variety that shows the most promise will be expanded to other portions of the property. All of Matthew Gibson's wines are completely hand-crafted and not subject to any pumps, filters, vacuums, or any other artificial mechanical means. Our red wines are only aged in New Extra Fine Grain American Oak sourced from Missouri. There are no timetables or accountants that tell us when the wine needs to be moved from the barrel to the bottle (so it can be sold). This decision is left up to the wine, which if you listen carefully will tell you exactly when it is time.

Matthew Gibson Winery has carved out a niche as a producer of completely hand-crafted, impeccably balanced wines that mix old-world refinement with perfectly ripened grapes unique to its treasured terroir. Our wines are complex, expressive, and meant to be enjoyed with friends and family over conversation and cherished meals. We describe our wine style as offering European elegance and refinement, coupled with the intense flavors and bright aromatics that are unique to our vineyard. This style generally means lower alcohol levels with higher acidity and chalky tannins. Our wines are designed to be food friendly and age worthy.
