The rumors are true, the quack is back! The Great Sutter Creek Duck Race returns to Minnie Provis park on April 26, 2025. A fresh fleet of ducks, courtesy of the Native Sons of the Golden West Amador #17, are ready to take to the creek in this classic Sutter Creek community event. The event coordinators are making every effort to keep the event format and spirit as close as possible to the great Duck Races past of the 80’s and 90’s. With further fiscal support from the Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation (SCCBF) and the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians, and in partnership with the City of Sutter Creek, we are on our way to ensuring a new generation of Sutter Creek residents will enjoy the races for many years to come.
Proceeds from duck sales will go into a SCCBF account to fund projects and community efforts in Sutter Creek. The 2025 featured project will be improvements to the Sutter Creek Community Pool at Amador High School. The Duck Race is intended as a fund-raising opportunity for local non-profits as well. Keeping with tradition, the ballfield at the park will be filled with concessions and goods, free games and activities, demonstrations, and more.
